The Maury Scholars program identifies and nurtures academic and personal potential in students from historically under served populations at Matthew Maury Elementary. Students participate in after school programs and attend two college visits throughout the year. The program aims to provide enrichment opportunities for students outside of the classroom, increase motivation and engagement in school, and promote college and career readiness.

Scholars visit George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. to learn about the college acceptance process and how to prepare for options after high school.
After School Enrichment

Monthly meetings after school focus on a variety of topics such as goal setting, study skills, and promoting access to literacy at home.
Team Building
Team Building
A key component of the program is helping students build trusting relationships with each other and their teachers. Students engage in team building activities through the year.
